Yay, I did a thing today, so I haven't been totally useless.

A basement window has an outer screen that was inexplicably too large for its mounting channels so I disassembled its aluminum frame and shortened the top and bottom pcs by a cm, then reassembled and re-splined the screen. Success.

Don't feel as lazy about the long breakfast and wandering through antique shops today.

OMG, living in a new house is hell. Why? Because my wife keeps moving shit around all the time. Is this better here or here? The answer is that I don't care; find a spot and leave it there. But I can't say that. However, it's exhausting.

My wife and are spending our first night at our new house!

We moved all our stuff from my sister’s house here this afternoon. Stuff from storage arrives Tuesday. Appliances (fridge/washer/dryer) arrive tomorrow.

But we are here! It’s called Hemlock Hall because the street is Hemlock, and I like the card game Gloom.

We have more than a room and it is glorious!

I screwed up buying two new monitors to go with my laptop and now I need to buy a whole new desk to accommodate the large size of the monitors.

Except my study isn't big enough to buy a bigger desk so I am going to need a whole new house now.

Another splash round for Arwen and me. Last week we'll be able to do those early...

Just one more week... Excited? Yes! Seven more sleeps... Anxious? Definitely!

I'm hopeful that this will be the start of a wonderful part of my journey through life.
Our journey, as long as Arwen honors me by accompanying me...

I also hope I planned things right! Hoping things will work out, that I'll be able to paint it all fast enough (and well enough). That the floors will go in smoothly. That my sweet friends and I will be able to get all my (heavy) stuff over to the new place...

There are things I'll also still need to do at the apartment.
Clean out the fridge.
Pack the things I'm currently using.
Take out the shower cabin with my dad.

I'm so grateful for my parent's and friends help! Without them, I could not have made this happen!

I'm also very grateful that you allow me to share this journey with you! The sweety replies, the likes, the bootst, the votes of confidence when I'm in totally doubt again...

Fankoos to all!!

Starting next week, I'll add a special tag to my house related toots!
You'll be able to follow or mute the tag, if you'd like. I don't wanna spam your time lines too much... But I am excited to share it with those who are interested.

Right now, I'm slowly gonna get weirder minute by minute... You have been warned .

Ugh... I had a bad and a short night. Silly dreams. So restless. Too much in my head. Not even the melatonin could help me .

Today at 9 I'll get a small inspection of the building coop. It's scheduled for 1:30 (way too long for my liking...) and they'll check the apartment for things that will need to be done.
This is *not* about the new renters, they can later add work towards it as well...

It might all be OK enough and it may mean I get loads to do... I feel rather insecure about it, to be honest... Wish I wasn't alone for this...

So yeah, my brain is all over the place and it already was scrambled much... So much to do, so much to remember and arrange...

I mentioned it before and will definitely mention it again... I'll be glad when it's August. The apartment will be gone then. The move should be all done then (probably still unpacking, but I can do that at my own pace then). I *should* have stuff sorted then and *hopefully* I can start getting used to the new routine...

I'm excited to move, to a new part of the journey through life. Just hate that it means there's so many changes!

Hope you'll all have a great day. And thank you for your support, it really helps me!

@blogdiva you & I are similar!
I find “The Hill” & other pubs useful to keep outside of certain silos.

My hubby & his family are U alumni & huge supporters.
We both worked for The Ann Arbor News…which we desperately miss(local News plug)…but the billionaire goons took care of that.

Liberal & Independents should be heard on this question.
