This weekend was Open Monument Day in The Netherlands. Yesterday I spend my day volunteering at my local and today I visited 5 windmills to check out how they work!

I found out the magic sentence that makes all the 'no access' signs disappear. It's "I'm in training to be a miller". Suddenly the mill will shut down and the miller will show you literally everything.

Post mill in Beegden, built in 1856. This is a very similar mill as the mill I'm training at, but just 155 years older. It's very surprising to see the similarities!
The oldest post mill in Limburg, built in 1783. It's in Stramproy. 216 years older than the mill I'm training at.
A round stone windmill on top of a small hill. Located in Tungelroy.
A huge round stone windmill with a platform from 1722 located in Stevensweert. It's massive size can run 3 mill stones at once.
