Giving developers a book and telling them to read it will not upskill them, they need to put those ideas into practice. If you have a shelf full of dev books and no discussion groups around software and design, then you're cargo-culting training.

I'm just going to go ahead and say it: #PHP is... not as shitty as I had expected. Sure, it has its warts, but it's also extremely practical, gets out of my way, and lets me iterate quickly.
