@davidbisset My hot take: Why would anyone want to use JavaScript if they didn't have to? 
@woozle of course. there are always people of a certain tech or tribe, and honestly i think #JavaScript gets more of a bad rap than it probably deserves (but JS is so big, that statement means almost nothing)
@davidbisset Ok, my last exposure to it was before it had objects -- so that change removes a lot of my "ugh" factor :D I may have to take another look at it.
(Likewise, I've been pretty happy with the direction PHP has gone since approximately v4.)
