This is the “tell us how you really feel” of #React development. #webDev https://toot.cafe/@slightlyoff/113544971918323360
@davidbisset Clearly I just wasted a fair amount of time recently learning React .
But in all seriousness, I can see why folks dislike it. And there are a _lot_ of alternatives to it now.
React isn't going anywhere anytime soon though...
@davidbisset I read through the replies, and found this:

Really interesting blogpost.
@hazz223 I wouldn't say at all you wasted your time. Unless you never end up using it - which hey, that happens in life. You don't always apply everything you learn.
Like #WordPress, React has it's own big part of a certain marketshare. Know it well, and I believe there are opportunities. The worst is for people who learn it but don't like it?
@davidbisset I've learned it for work, as I'm doing a lot more on the FE side of things and it's all SPA's and React. So right now it's worth a lot.
But it's interesting seeing these comments. I first learned JS back in like 2011, when all of the web frameworks weren't a thing. I was very comfortable with standard JS and jQuery. Then I got left behind. Now it seems to be reverting back?
