「 It’s a rejection that couldn’t be clearer: More than 94 percent of t-online readers say they won’t buy a Tesla again. Only three percent said they would still consider a car from the former electric pioneer. Around 100,000 readers voted—a record turnout. The message is clear: Germans are turning their backs on Tesla 」

Electrek · Tesla is done in Germany: 94% say they won’t buy a Tesla carBy Fred Lambert

It is nice to see that a growing number of people are becoming aware of Arte TV for the first time.

(original post here: social.vivaldi.net/@ueeu/11415)

We told you that the service is free, but this is only partially accurate.

It is a public service broadcaster funded by French and German taxpayers. 💸

The source of payment differs between France and Germany.

In France, people used to pay around €140 per year to finance public broadcasters. This tax was abolished in 2022, and the funding of public broadcasters comes from VAT now, an indirect tax that applies to most goods and services.

In Germany, a flat rate of €18.36 per month is paid by each household, ensuring that the entire population contributes to the funding of public broadcasters like Arte.

Some programmes are translated into other European languages, with funding support from the European Union (English, Spanish, Polish, and Italian).

For more detailed information on the funding mechanisms, see the following link: arte.tv/sites/corporate/en/fun

Thanks to the French 🇫🇷 and German 🇩🇪 taxpayers! 😀 Danke, merci !

Pooh sad: Netflix: 13.99€: US brainrot content made for people on their phone
Pooh happy: Arte: Free, no ads: thousands of programs, documentaries, concerts, news from Europe

This is a true game changer, not just for #Germany but for #Europe as a whole. This will kickstart not just the German economy and bolster its defense capabilities, it will also boost the European economy and give a clear message to Putin – and to Trump. The Germans are back.

#Germany will now add 41bn EUR annually for the next 12 years to its budget thanks to the #financialpact between CDU, SPD and the Greens for infrastructure, climate action, energy, housing etc. This is 8% of the German government budget ON TOP of the existing budget. At the same time, defense spending above 1% of the budget is now basically without restraints from the so-called #debtbrake which means that Germany will become the biggest defense spender in Europe, maybe even surpassing Russia.
