Does Symfony 4 do some weird caching? It's taking forever, or just not noticing in some cases, when a file gets edited.

Currently it's complaining a class doesn't exist in the expected file... but it does. It seems stuck on a previous edit.

2nd day of work, and the entire internet goes down.

Welp, it was a good run I guess.

That Podcast (@thatpodcast@twitter.com) Episode 60 dropped yesterday! @davedevelopment@twitter.com and I talked to Oliver Davies (@opdavies@twitter.com) about a whole boatload of topics including , , , , and Game of Thrones. Fun times!

Pretty sure that magicians and wizards of ye olden times were just winging it as much as we as programmers do now.

"I want you to make the crops grow large."
"Uhm... sure." *waves hands around*
"Why is this still all beans?"
"What?"
"I wanted big crops. And a gold ring."

Unbelievably I just arranged to record a @JerksTalkGames@twitter.com podcast with @dragonmantank@twitter.com this Thursday — we have a new idea for format that will definitely work for at least two weeks before I make excuses and cry off recording

After 8 years it's time to leave the travel life behind. I'm looking for a lower-travel role in DevRel leadership, Senior DevRel or Engineering (PHP/Golang/etc.)

I'm a polyglot/educator that loves to work on Dev Tools & educating folks on cool tech. Remote/~Seattle. DMs open :)

Almost to 2000 followers. When I hit that, I'll give away a tweet with a witty comment! Let's make this happen internet!

Or the comment will be nonsensical, considering the normal quality of my tweets.

Since I will be starting to work on a public SDK, a lot of this discussion is good to keep in mind.

For a given API, relying on the provided client SDK is risky.

When they abandon it or don't keep it up to date, you have to take on maintenance of their code yourself.

You may as well write directly against the API itself and be future-proof.

This man is technically correct, the best kind.

@dragonmantank to be fair it does sound like the security update will prevent anyone from hacking information off your machine in the future

I think my 2011 MBP has finally bit the dust. Why?

A security update messed up the firmware. Now I can't reinstall the OSX. Swapped the HD and memory. Can't even boot into internet recovery.

Glad this machine that worked yesterday is now broken.

I'm still looking to find my next opportunity. Remote senior software engineer and leader. Looking for IC or managerial. Please get in touch if you know of something or want to work with me. DMs are open or feel free to email me at jcarouth@gmail.com.

This is my dogs favorite spot. Not too much sun, but clear enough view of the neighbors, squirrels, and ghosts that constantly assault my home.

.@JoePFerguson@twitter.com is an awesome person and deserves any accolades he gets.

Keep doing good work Joe.

Random phobia confession:

As a child, I had an intense fear of in-wall/ceiling fans, drains, and pool lights. At 40+ years old, this fear has largely subsided, but has not entirely vanished.

Quote tweet with your random, irrational phobia; Past or present.

One of the reasons contributions to open source fail is because they are submitted without the “why”, just the “what”.

Spend time to craft the PR with why the change is needed. What was the problem before? How does this solve it?
