There are exceptions, but overall, I think it often comes down to what you’re comfortable using with and if that solution technically will be the best for the user in terms of experience. Users don’t care if you are using #PHP etc.

As developers it’s fun to find a “better” way of doing something. Keep your eyes open for new learning opportunities in quick wins. But you have to pick priorities.
